Pause your work at the DOC hut long enough to set an alarm for 00:10, so you can break away from the generator check when needed. Match the alarm sound to the conditions around the generator rather than choosing one without listening first. A softer tone may be enough inside a quiet hut, while a persistent sound is more suitable if the engine is running or you are outside checking equipment. Test the volume from where you will actually be working. A browser alarm cannot call you back to the generator if the browser has stopped running, so use another reliable alert when missing the check would disrupt the job.
Returning from a generator check after midnight is easier when the route into the hut is already visible. Before continuing the job, leave a torch within reach and arrange its beam so you can find the doorway without sweeping bright light across sleeping companions. If the torch has a low or red setting, select it beforehand; fumbling through modes at 00:10 creates unnecessary glare. Keep spare batteries beside the torch rather than buried in a pack.
