Online alarm clock for 2:15 am

While preparing the coastguard team for a night search, set the 2:15 am alarm before it becomes the signal everyone is relying on. That leaves a useful window for checking names, departure points and search equipment before 3:00 am, without turning the alarm itself into another last-minute job.

Because this alert may start the mobilisation, test its sound now at the same volume you intend to use later. Confirm that it is clearly audible from wherever you will be waiting, then reset it for 2:15 am and keep a separate operational backup. The night search could begin late if the browser stops running before the alarm time, so this alarm should not be the team’s only notification.

Anyone stepping outside before dawn may meet damp air, mist or condensation, especially near the New Zealand coast. Keep a dry outer layer beside the gear and protect paper notes, radios and spare batteries from moisture before leaving shelter. At 2:15 am, a quick check of the air outside can also reveal whether visibility feels different from the earlier forecast, giving the coastguard team time to adjust what they carry before assembly.
