Online alarm clock for 4:00 pm

You are halfway through sorting the kayak when the alarm pulls you away from the job. At 4:00 pm, that interruption can be the cue to secure the paddle, tighten the straps and move the boat above the incoming tide line before the water turns. A clear signal helps when your hands and attention are already occupied.

Because the kayak pack-up may happen near wind and surf, check the alarm at a useful volume before relying on it. Silent mode can suppress the sound, so keep vibration enabled and place the phone where you will notice it rather than leaving it beneath towels or gear. The browser alarm also cannot warn you to shift the kayak if the page is no longer active or the phone has gone to sleep.

Finishing beside the water in the late afternoon is easier when food does not become another loose item to manage. Have a small snack and a drink before 4:00 pm if the outing has been long, but save a larger meal until the kayak, paddle and lifejacket are secured. Keep water within reach for the final lift, especially on a warm New Zealand afternoon.
