Online alarm clock for 4:35 am

Getting the studio ready early gives you time to check the microphones, lighting and programme feed before the live broadcast with Europe. Set the alarm for 4:35 am while preparations are still calm, leaving 25 minutes to resolve a loose cable or missing cue before 5:00 am. That buffer is useful when the New Zealand crew is working well ahead of the European connection.

Keeping the 4:35 am alarm available depends on the browser remaining open and the phone or computer staying awake. If the browser is closed or the equipment goes to sleep, the alarm will not sound, and the studio preparation could start late. Leave the alarm page running in the foreground, keep the equipment powered, and check that its sound is audible before returning to the mixing desk. A separate alarm can provide backup for a broadcast that cannot wait.

Before the live broadcast begins, listen for changes in the studio rather than assuming the night will remain silent. Around 4:35 am, traffic, early deliveries or crew arrivals may gradually raise the background noise outside. Close doors before testing levels, pause briefly between checks, and monitor the room again nearer 5:00 am so the audio settings reflect the conditions the microphones will actually capture.
